News from Achievements' Family History Research Team & the unexpected discovery of Extraordinary Ancestors
Skeletons in cupboards? Aristocratic blood? Family history is a subject of great discussion and speculation for all and there are many legends that Achievements sets out to verify. However on many occasions the family tree that they endeavour to trace, produces its own unexpected extraordinary ancestors .For example this week when we were tracing an ordinary family from Ashton-under-Lyne in Lancashire, we found that the father of Robert Creighton Aitken, baptised in 1838, was one William Aitken, a well known leader of the Chartist movement in the 1840s in Lancashire.
