With World Cup Fever striking all over the world, we thought consideration of into the origins of the sport in Britain could be interesting. Bearing in mind that most of our ancestors would have experienced anything up to a 70 hour working week, it is hard to imagine what time they would find for themselves - the time they did find, it appears, was filled with playing sports including football and cricket.
